We urgently need to pause, think and use our imagination together.  In other words, we need to cooperate. Futurological Congress: ways to promote cooperation for tomorrow is an informal, relaxed conversation about how to cooperate and co-exist with independent organisations in the fields of performative and visual arts in today’s artistic-cultural world in the Algarve and Portugal.

What point have we reached so far? What is our mission?  In what manner should culture be approached in 2025 and in the near future considering the new wave of disinvestment in the face of the hyperactive vitality of artistic-cultural community in all its dimensions?  How can the right to enjoy cultural fulfilment – which is a constitutional right – be guaranteed to the greatest possible number of people?  How should we continue?  What resources do we need?  How can we cooperate?

There are many questions about the same goal:how to resist and continue without limits.

In a debate so easy to start, different cultural agents will come together in an unusual though very fitting place for dialogue (as always … in a tavern), with the aim of building bridges to seek solutions for the challenges of today and the near future.  Could this be the launching of the first ‘pedradura’ (‘hardstone’) the founding of an even more glorious and deserving future collective?

The debate is open to artists and the entire community so that a range of voices and views may be heard, as well as new places of speaking.
